Derek Brockway starts a walk in the pretty seaside town of Saundersfoot in Pembrokeshire, currently under-going a multi-million pound seafront regeneration. His nine-mile trek takes him through an area rich in mining history as he heads towards Pendine Sands in neighbouring Carmarthenshire. Derek discovers some fascinating military history as the coast was used as the site for rehearsals for the D-Day landings. The walk leads on to Pendine, with its famous seven-mile stretch of beach famously used for land-speed record attempts.
