Le ballet Paquita a marqué les débuts de Marius Petipa en Russie en tant que danseur et chorégraphe, il y a 170 ans. De ses trois actes, seule la dernière scène, le célèbre Grand Pas, est restée une pièce de répertoire. La production d'Ekaterinbourg utilise le livret original de Paquita, et la chorégraphie a été reconstituée d'après les notes conservées dans la collection du théâtre de Harvard.
